Asking to the experts here for some advice.

I just made a flight change to meet my SO in the US. Les than 1 hr after the change, We realize SO passport is expiring on 07/14 so she won't be able to meet me in US, therefore making my flight change useless.

I paid a fare difference but no change fee, if I call in right now to ask for the original itinerary to be kept, do I get the fare difference refunded or I am our of luck?

I don't think it's even been 1hr since I made the change. I haven't even got the new eticket for this change.
