MUCH, MUCH farther to down under, as well as much more expensive. Not sure if it was mentioned in the story I linked to, but part of the excitement for the couple was the price of the ticket.

I've wanted to visit Sydney and Bondi Beach for a very long time, and while I didn't actually make it all the way to Sydney, NS, I have driven to/through Nova Scotia, so for me personally it would be a huge letdown
