Quite the day at ORD.

As someone said, being inside is like the eye of the hurricane. The landslide areas are completely swamped. Wall to wall people just waiting in line for hours upon hours. Airside is completely dead. Gates are empty, restaurants are empty, etc. Very few people going airside because so many flights have been cancelled. (Most of mainline, 100% of UAX, and more cancellations by the hour.)

As far as employees, early starts and overtime have been initiated the past few days but flights simply aren't going out. Most workers are just being used to find bags for customers that want them back for clothes, etc.

And a "fun" note - UA added a segment from ORD-SFO on a 747 to clear the backlog of the hub-hub PAX. Anyone on it?
