The early boarding can have benefits. I was on this flight last Thursday and was warned on entering the lounge that it was likely to board early. It did, and although I left the lounge within a minute of it showing 'boarding' I was one of the last few on the bus. It was lightly loaded, we got away 20 minutes early and arrived 25 minutes early. That was very welcome!

I had also wondered about being bussed when using this flight before; thanks for the explanations given above.
