I don't know if it's allowed for US bound flight these days but I definitely try to bring in/smuggle in a water bottle, if not 2. I put them deep hidden in your carry on, and have a sacrificial half-empty water bottle near the top. At the final gate security check, try to let the security find your half-empty scapegoat water, once they take it away I don't think they will look to search for your 2 main water bottle. I find this key to an enjoyable flight in economy.
