I did wonder that, but I am fairly certain that I have used the same stand with an A32x and never had the same saga. I wondered if it was to do with turning the aircraft around quicker, eg pax come off the front and load from the back but then I figured this was nonsense because they never do this at anywhere else.

It's poor design/planning if they park the largest domestic aircraft in the fleet at a place they can't use an airbridge.
