At the rest stop, they driver admitted he had the air conditioner on instead of the heater, until just before the stop. Of course, even with GPS, he also got lost getting to JFK. Then, freezing at JFK, I found the largest taxi line I had ever seen. Not what I really need after a transcon redeye.

It looks like AA30 flew to IAD - JFK last night, according to FlightAware
Flightaware also shows 2 entries for it, 930-950PM, and 933-1020PM
Under "normal" conditions the taxi line at JFK T8 can be huge--no "staging area" for waiting taxis...throw in a snow storm the waiting times could easily stretch to an hour. [In another thread, re this issue, some posters suggested going "upstairs" to the arrival area, and flagging a cab at that spot.]
