I was curious as I don't travel much as I have kids in school and now a son in college, so finance is very tight. But joined FT to learn and accrue miles for future use whenever possible.
I posted because a friend of mine wanted to travel RT from NY to Asia and perhaps stopover in Europe. He is single and have just enough miles for one Biz class seat using United miles. He wants to book before devaluation and he won't have enough miles then. He was scanning and saw many connections with many airlines and different air crafts. Ex: United flights, Thai, Ana, Turkish, and even Egyptian air. I think I've read most Asian based airlines have the lie flats but unsure of most American based or the other like Turkish.
