Your point, however, is well taken and I did use to carry my SE card around all the time, even when I wasn't travelling, but that was when more of my travel was domestic....
A domestic "F" (J) BP isn't good enough to get into the United Club either

Your card is more useful in the US than Canada. But United agents can (and are usually willing to) manually look up your status. "JF-123456789*AC"
