I stayed there last month and here is a brief report. The hotel just opened a few weeks earlier and everything looks new. I chose it because a) it's a Hilton; b) location. You can take the ferry directly from HKG and the hotel is right by the ferry port.
The hotel is just like any other Asia Hiltons where they treat you much better than US ones. As gold, I was upgrade to exec floor with ocean view. The room itself is adequate with all necessary amenities. There was one big fruit bowl and also chocolates. They put new water bottle in the room everyday (free). Exec lounge is big and offers a good variety of foods and drinks. You can also have breakfast there, which I tried in the first morning. It’s kind of odd to me that only western breakfast is offered there. I found it better to have the breakfast in the main dining area in the first floor where you have much more choices. The hotel did not have many guests when I was there so both places are very quiet anyway.
The pool was closed but there was a note in the room saying that the hotel could provide alternative place for swimming. Did not try the fitness room (not my thing). The staffs were very friendly and went out of their way to help. But obviously, more training is required if they want to be a truly 5-star facility (they claim that is their target). Also, some services are lacking, probably because it is new. For example, it took many tries and phone calls for me to print a few pages of document and they could not make it work. Eventually, they took me to the lounge to use the printer there.
Overall, I was happy with my stay there and will visit again when I’m in Shenzhen.
