I'm still a bit confused.

Bought a ticket today YYZ-SFO-BUR and return all in . With the YYZ-SFO portions operated by Air Canada

I called United and they said I was booked in L and that it also mapped to L on Air Canada and that I'd earn full miles.

Any recent experience to confirm / contradict this
