This is what I always do and I have never had a problem.
I didn't have my SE100K Altitude card with me, just my boarding pass, which the agent did scan. Should make it more of a habit to carry it but was just going to be there for 90 minutes (least expensive MR I could find from SFO to get the 180 miles I was short for 250K threshold).

For what it's worth, I found the SEA UA lounge to be reasonably comfortable and well appointed, though most NA domestic lounges pale by comparison to Asian business lounges (particularly national carriers' hub airports).
