GS (and other) status is noted for all customers in F. It's not clear if they have status for the entire economy cabin, only a certain number of customers, or none on the manifest.
The manifest lists the status of all passengers in premium cabins. It also has two sections to list GS and 1K passengers in economy, respectively. I have seen these with my own two eyes on multiple recent occasions.
I agree that it is not looked at much or used for much aside from meal ordering for f/c.
