One of the purposes of putting "BULK" in the fare box is to keep unpublished fares unpublished. Bulk tickets are sometimes called "opaque fares" because you know the booking code and the fare basis, but not the actual $ fare. UA does not want you or anyone who chances upon your ticket to see the price paid for that particular booking class. They don't want you to post on this blog that "my company only pays $XXXX for J Transpacific" because customers comparing prices with other customers (be it airfares, freight or anything else) is not good for business. In fact, your travel department is probably contractually prohibited from disclosing these prices under your company's CVA.
