Ok thanks all. So to summarise then all flights departing up until (and including) the "Tier Point collection year ends:" day are included for the current membership year. And this is based on flight departure date in local time.

So should I go for 3000 points then (need 480 to achieve this)? Will be a huge hassle to fly to KUL/BKK from CPT right now just to get the first year of GGL!
