At the Andaz right now with wife and 3 kids (7, 5 and 3 mos.). Been here 8 days so far, 3 more to go. Wonderful property - definitely do NOT rule out on the basis of thinking its kid unfriendly. They are extremely kid friendly here. Free kids club. Gracious and caring kids club hosts. Absolutely wonderful pool staff who go out of their way for taking care of kids. (One example: if you look on level 1 behind the pool desk where they store towels, there are a huge stack of port-a-cribs...they are ready to set up, and do set up, cribs by the pools for new parents...never seen this ANYWHERE before...) Yes its more upscale (big time) than HR Maui, no there are not as many water features. But to say its not kid friendly is not accurate. Very fine place for families with kids. (BTW - lots of kids around the hotel now...prior posts may just be school times versus school vacations...because hotel is loaded up with families and kids this week).
