Another question....would I be entitled to enter the arrivals lounge at heathrow if I filed economy? Will they be able to see I originally paid J class?
They have opened all bookings open for rescheduling, due to the weather. So actually they won't have a clue about loads until 20 minutes before departure. This is compounded by the fact that though the flight is under "airport control", BA is shoving people on to all sorts of flights at the same time. So there's a good chance of a CW seat being available in the current circumstances.

However if you are really happy to sit it out, yes ask for the next CW seat, which may well be tomorrow. You do not have to go Economy unless you want to. They should put you in a hotel, but if they don't then sort yourself out (which I would tend to anyway) and bill BA or your insurers later.

However the risk is that there are no flight tomorrow / Saturday and that's something only you can decide.

I would have thought Arrivals Lounge is the least of your issues, to be honest, but if you fly Economy I suspect it will be a "no" there, but you can always ask particularly if you have some sort of CW confirmation document.
