In the US, I typically rent the standard SUVs. However, I typically get upgraded to a full-size/large or premium SUV with AVIS First. I've received a Ford Explorer, GMC Yukon, Kia Sorrento and even a Chevrolet Camaro SS. No joke on the Camaro. I rented a standard SUV at IAD earlier this month and when I landed, I had an alert that my car was ready in spot D12 or whatever. I go to the spot and there is the Camaro. I went to the desk (as I had several Pelican cases of equipment) to ask if I could get a larger vehicle. They told me they didn't have any available, but they'd send a guy out there to ensure my equipment fit. Well, we got it all crammed into the backseat and trunk. The offered a BMW X3 delivery the next day if necessary, but I declined as I didn't have the time in my schedule to arrange a swap.
