They are talking complete nonsense. It is pretty difficult to get yourself killed walking around in a game reserve, you would have try hard to meet an untimely end in such a short time. Sure,there are dangerous animals, but they are not exactly waiting for you on every corner. Unless you happen to know exactly where they are, tracking lions for example takes a lot of effort and time, with no success guaranteed. Besides, animals, whether dangerous or not, will generally run away if you come to close. You generally need to be really stupid, foolhardy or unlucky to get into trouble.

I have not, to the best of my recollection, ever heard of any such death. Even the freak accidents I know of did not result in fatalities.
