It would cost me about 2800 GBP in POUGs to make gold from my current status of silver - euroroadwarrioring from LCY or LGW. Not really worth it, although the reward ticket changes FOC would have come in handy in the last few weeks. Spent about 170 GBP in change fees with more to come.
