Well based on what RMAnalystATL posted maybe you signed up before end of November when this apparent change went into effect or your kids are 13 or over. It sounded like the change only impacted delta.com Skymiles enrollments so it's still quite easy to sign up by calling or at an airport. My point in this thread was that people don't often go to the "Join Skymiles link" often. You do it once or even a couple of times for family but when you are done, you are done. One doesn't really follow the ins and outs of signing up once you have done it.
So when one goes to the link to sign up and the only option seen is to do it as they present it, you do it. It should be a no hassle process.
It was a no hassle process for my older son but when I got to the 12 YO, it forced me to do that consent form. I never saw where it said or you can call and we will do it over the phone for you.
There really shouldn't be any drama in signing up a new member.
