Thanks tide. I'm leaning that way for my HKT to BKK flights as well. Just as many flights as Thai (in case of delay/cancellations) and about 75% the cost on that route factoring in seats and luggage.

Here is one other thread I found on the topic. Everyone seems to agree for the most part that Air Asia is just fine.
