Well based on what
RMAnalystATL posted maybe you signed up before end of November when this apparent change went into effect or your kids are 13 or over. It sounded like the change only impacted delta.com Skymiles enrollments so it's still quite easy to sign up by calling or at an airport. Seems to be a lot of drama in this thread for not much a problem.
