Regardless, after a bit more thought, my wife and I have decided we're struggling to see the value in either of these since we'd basically just be using them to get to either the USA or Japan without any other stops, so we're going to use QFF points to get from Europe to KUL, then a cheap MH flight to get us from KUL back to BNE.
