Recently bought a ticket on TG website, and there was no surcharge. Must be the bank.

I am seeing this 'charge' in most australian transactions these days. Last trip to AU, and both hotels I stayed at had a credit card charge @ 1.5%. Didn't matter if it was AU or non-AU card, it was blanket on all cards.
