I use the Key Ring app on my phone - you can photograph front and back of your actual card (and those cards with bar codes, you can add that as well). This app saves me a lot off time and space in my wallet - it can store a variety of certification, status, discount etc. cards and bar codes (such as those used on checkout from a drugstore or supermarket).

Not every place will accept photos from an app on your phone (why? probably because they are behind the times); I have had some pushback from Priority Pass lounges, though they have ultimately allowed me in.

The bonus of Key Ring - your card photo shows expiration date, wheres your virtual card from the AA app does not. And if you are travelling, what you will show is the virtual card stored in your gallery, which unfortunately may not be acceptable because of the lack of expiry date.
