I already knew I wasn't the Hyatt Place type, now I guess I should add the US Andaz group to my list (the only Andaz I've stayed at outside the US, London Liverpool St, is fine).
The location caters to a certain type of clientele. If you're not interested in clubbing along the Sunset Strip, or plan to bar-hop in "Boys' Town" along Santa Monica Boulevard, the Century Plaza (which is more of a business hotel) is probably the better choice.
Since I live about 2 miles from both hotels, I've never stayed at either of them, although I have attended events at both of them. If I were to book a Hyatt staycation, it would definitely be at the Century Plaza.
