I hear ya, OP! Last year I earned around 130k EQMS (only some due to the promos), but because of a dramatic reduction in work travel, I only managed 55k this year. Back to PLAT....sigh.....
Don't forget that last year there were several double EQM promos. I flew 160k EQM last year, but I think it was just shy of 120K real EQM. However, I had 5 international trips last year and only three this year. I will just hit EXP this year with 104K, but they're all real, non-double eqm.
I found within the last year that there were so many more EXPs, likely because many people who were 60-70k PLTs were able to ride the boosters to EXP and get a taste of it. This last year was the hardest to get back to EXP due to slightly reduced travel, some flights on other carriers and a canceled trip to Japan. However, I had to fight for it, and I'm looking forward to a lower density of EXPs.
