My experience with this was that there were empty seats. Myself and my SO (He is DM) were on SEA-SLC-ABQ. They were selling upgrades, but no takers. I asked for both segments if it was possible as it looked like they'd go out empty - and, they did. So, like all things DL these days...YMMV.
