We have a business-class trip coming up ATL-LHR-BOM on Delta and then Virgin Atlantic. Then, we will be purchasing Jet Airways tickets from BOM-HYD that will leave a few hours after arrival in BOM.

When we check in at the Delta counter in ATL, will they be willing to tag our bags through to HYD? Obviously we'll need to go through customs in BOM. Will it make it easier to recheck them? Or will we have to exit security and go back to check the bags?

Certainly, one reason to interline them would be to avoid baggage fees on Jet Airways. But the other reason would just be for convenience.

Any thoughts?

What about the return? Will Jet Airways in HYD be willing to interline from BOM-LHR-ATL?
