We just need all US airlines to go bankrupt, and every US airport to become some sort of European or Asian hub, and wherever you want to fly to in the US, you have to be routed through Europe or Asia. Then everyone will be happy.

But in all seriousness, that sort of UA behavior is unacceptable but not out of the ordinary.
