I have 3 visitor visas in my passport right now. One is expired, two are still valid. Also have a four or five of those "buy on the spot" visas - Nepal, Egypt, etc. - in there.

For what it's worth, depending on your citizenship, you may not need visas at all for HKG or Macau, even if you would otherwise need one for mainland China.
