So an update on this. Flew this segment last night, assigned seat 21J. At boarding gate, the scanner beeps, and the GA says oh your seat has changed. I am like, I want an exit row or an aisle (and fearing the worst, some family with the baby has displaced me from the bulkhead). She smiles, hands me the new BP, says it is a Business class aisle. Quick glance at BP, it indeed says 7H, but economy. Ask her again, she says its is business seat with economy service.

Never heard of such a thing before, but thats what I get. Angled lie flat seat, but crappy chicken dinner. Overall, I care more about my sleep than food, so cant complain (this was true for row 6,7 of business, but not for 1-5 in front). Also, the purser comes in just after takeoff, and hands me a glass of champaign as "American Emerald". The people around me look perplexed/pissed.
