You mention that you flew into IAD on DL1128, but that is currently flying into ROA not IAD and ROA, although in VA, is quite far from IAD (also in VA). But let's assume that you took another flight getting into IAD and that your bags were checked through. It seems to me more likely that your bags did not make the domestic/international transfer. That is quite common. Your bags could have be sitting there for a couple of days. Furthermore, the weather was particularly inclement in many states on Dec 22, so your bags probably had plenty of company.
I am not saying that I know where your bags were, but accusing an airline with such harsh words based on a guess might be too extreme. Why don't you also accuse DL? Furthermore in many airports, baggage handlers are employees of the airport, not of the airline. While each airline has some representative handling the claim, they are not running around the airport looking for your bag in every corner, airport employees do that.
Correction, as I ment to say delta 1480 from Atlanta to Washington Dulles. I had a 5 hr layover in Dulles until my flight from Dulles to Paris, so I assumed the bag made it to Paris. That's plenty of time to get it on my Paris flight lol. The flight from Dulles to Paris was delayed, thus making my connections in Paris 50min, on my way to Hanover.
Let's say it made it to Paris on my flight but missed my connector due to the 50min, then there was still 2 more Hanover flights that day. Also, 3-4 the next day...not to mention they told me on dec 24th, that the bag would be on one of the flights that day and would arrive that evening. In the end, that didn't happen and it come in a flight the following day 25th.
I understand that it can happen to anyone but it was just disheartening that it happened in my Christmas vacation trip! I travel weekly for work to many cities and countries and it never happens lol. Oh well
I will submit my claim to air france as my legs from Dulles to Paris and Hanover were "AF" tickets. I will also contact delta as my Atlanta to Dulles flight was a "DL" flight. Althiugh they are partners, either Delta and/or Air France dropped the ball.
