Just in case you do get to attend, Lake Erie is perfectly fine for swimming. I did an iron-distance triathlon at Cedar Point back in September. As an aside, I grew up west of Cleveland in the 60s-70s when the Lake was deemed "dead" and it was even ok to swim back then.
