I have an additional account being asked for DL for verification (2nd account with same ssn). Is it safe to send them the documentation requested? I already used the same ssn for one account for a couple of years and has been good so far.

I think the only time that happened to me is when my account had to be "verified". That might be what's wrong with your account...
Be prepared to send in some documentation.
