I did that commute for about 8 months. The LAX Boardroom is the nicest of the 3.
According to that page ANC, PDX, and SEA Board Rooms offer access to Admiral's Club members "along with a same day ticket/boarding pass on a flight operated and marketed by American Airlines." If access was being granted to you as an Admiral's Club member with Alaska boarding passes, the agents may have been confused.
