Has anybody definitively tested purchasing AMEX gift cards from the AMEX website? Someone recently started a thread and said they called AMEX and the AMEX rep said they would count towards threshold spend. Guess I will find out in a week or two if they count.
I bought some a year or two ago directly from AmEx and I believe they counted. They were smaller amounts and actually for gifts so I wasn't paying close attention, but I'm reasonably sure I got the miles and the credit for that spend.
Of course, that was a while ago...
