Thanks guys for your advice. It looks like then (as Dave C said), it's a bit dependent on which agent you get, though I have now tracked down the BAEC T&Cs and section 15.15 does state that open jaw awards must be in the same zone.

Perhaps GCHs get a little more flexibility?

If the last two seats to Denver are still available, I'll try calling again tomorrow and see if I have any more luck.
