As soon as your AA profile has the EXP status, and your AA FF profile is attached to the reservation, you will gain access to the lounge. You don't need the physical card.
Do they need to refresh the AAdvantage data on the reservation like they often do on AA ones?
I've never had CX ask for my physical card, fortunately; BA, on the other hand...
