I hope this is becoming more typical at AS now. I am 75K, but I also buy a lot of F tickets with AS. When I get to the day of travel, if I need to change to an earlier or later flight, I almost always have to take a downgrade to economy because F is always filled up (with upgrades) on the day of travel. Holding a few seats until T-1 would enable those in paid F to have some flexibility and to enable those that buy F at the last minute to be able to buy F.
