Not true. There is a diamond line at HKG these days. Saw it this week.
That's because certain routes (especially the LHR ones OP mentioned) have F served.
The F line becomes: F pax / DM / OWE
Business line : J pax / OWS / GO SL GR
Technically OWR does not grant you priority boarding. But CX does it most of the time anyways.
