I wouldn't bother. I've been following the tweets that passengers send to @KLM for a couple of months now and there are numerous complaints of people reserving EC seating or preferred (aisle or window) seating, pay for it and then end up travelling in another standard seat. Another common practice with KLM seems to be that they separate parties seated together, even on one booking.
