The reason for switching is the zero FTF with the Travel Rewards card, my other cards all have FTFs.
I got it done last night, over an online chat session, after the agent confirmed (again) it would be only a soft pull. Looking at my credit file this morning, I don't see any hard pulls.

Similar for me, opposite reasons. I upgraded from a BOA rewards card of some type (account is old) and I recently paid it off. Actually, the CSA conversation drifted from what I had called about to advising me I had a 3.9% BT offer. I knew already but I quietly let him share because he was in sales mode. When I sidestepped that, he offered to upgrade my card to something where I get cash back each quarter. I guess that's where the soft pull came in.
Since I want to retain this credit line for my credit score and I really don't want to utilize the 3.9% BT offer, I surrendered the nominal points for some future cash back. I want back a little of that interest I paid them when the balance was revolving monthly. I have other travel rewards cards that are fine.
