BA for me is an option on flights back to the UK and around Western Europe. For me doing a number of short haul stints in Asia to some god forsaken airports, Tier Points and status are far more valuable than Avios.

On the long hauls the tipping point has already come. CX provide a much better product for the same price in all classes. With the addition of QR, I can get a much better product for half the price. BA just doesn't come into consideration anymore, I don't care about my Avios balance here.

In Western Europe, BA's major selling point is Oneworld and BAEC. Unless a major Euro airline joins, I cant see that changing.
