Agreed, it doesn't sound like there's a big benefit for you. The companion cert, a free checked bag, and the ability to earn MQMs or an MQD waiver are really the big reasons to have one. Probably the only thing you're missing is the ability to use Pay with Miles, which is a poor use of your miles anyway.
