I flew DEN-LHR on 3 January 2012 when there was very bad storms with gusts measured (albeit in Scotand) of 81mph. We had to hold for over an hour and the approach was pretty bumpy with the captain commenting on landing that even he'd found it a bit hairy. But we landed safely albeit late. I actually spoke to the captain in baggage reclaim to thank him for getting us down safely in the conditions and he said it had been one of the worst landings he'd experienced-but that's what all those hours if training are for
