I'm assuming my US status will eventually transition, I'll have solid AA status then if down the line I decide to swap I can look in to status matching at that time. For the last three years I've managed top tier on US and AS which takes some juggling, it'd be nice to consolidate but I cannot pass up the direct BOS-PDX flight when I'm going to Portland.
