DL has had a similar policy in place for quite some time (my kids travel with DL as UM's at least three times a year).
DL does allow direct flights with a stop but without a "change of gauge." In other words, only on flights that make a stop but without a change of a/c.
I believe the above only applies to UMs 5-7 years old. UMs age 8+ are allowed on connecting flights. DLs policies are
