OK, the final part of the trilogy is too hilarious not to share.
I was waiting for the UPS guy to show up and return the wrong suitcase to Herford for several days (the "automatic pickup" nonsense means you can't tell when they'd come on what day). However, on the third day, no one showed up, even though I was at home the whole time. I rang up UPS Belgium to ask what was going on, and they got back to me saying that no pickup attempts had been made at all because
the agent had accidentally lost the shipping label. The solution to that in Belgium is obviously to pretend no label has ever existed. They rescheduled the pickup for next morning and the suitcase was on its way to Herford.
For five full days, I got no sign of life from LH. I had sent them a reminder e-mail as soon as the suitcase was confirmed delivered to Herford, yet didn't get a reply. Then yesterday I sent a livid e-mail telling them that I have travel plans on Saturday, and that if I don't get my suitcase by Friday, I'll never spend another € in WorldShop. And now for the culmination.
A few minutes ago, the TXL shop called me to say that they were preparing the suitcase to be sent as we spoke
and that they will also send me the wrong model as a token of apology for my inconvenience.
Why on Earth did you make me return the wrong model to Herford if you were going to send it to me again with my original model anyway?!
I suppose we'll never know.
